Responsibility at construction sites
Teboil service stations are dealer-driven private companies. When a new service station is built or an old one is demolished, Teboil undertakes the responsibility for the construction site.
When demolishing a service station building, all work is coordinated together with authorities. The demolishing process is supervised by an external consult and a final work report is drawn up to be used by the construction and environmental supervisors.
Structures of the demolished station building such as fuel gauges and dispenser machines are recycled whenever possible. Fuel tanks are removed from under service station structures and soil around them is cleaned if necessary. Soil and other non-recyclable materials are sorted according to a pre-determined demolition plan and transported to special landfills for further processing.
The construction of new service stations is fulfilled in accordance with a domestic distribution station standard (SFS 3352). Waste from the construction site is recycled, the quality of materials is monitored and in regards to the raw materials, we follow the principle of least waste, meaning that the transportation of waste is planned to be as efficient as possible.
Safety and Environmental Policy of Teboil
We require all of our contractors to approve of Teboil's safety and environmental policy and we monitor its compliance in work. The construction sites are supervised by an independent external consultant, who monitors the quality of environmental construction of the service station on behalf of the authorities, such as the installation of tanks.
The construction and location of new stations is based on a general plan or town plan approved by the municipal council. Several factors are taken into account in zoning and land use: biodiversity, the smoothness of everyday life for those living in the municipality and the viability of the municipality.
